(Poem) The Song of the Rose
There was once a boy, if not there was a child
He bought a little plastic rose that cost him his week
The blood was for a little girl
He liked in his school

The Girl was named Linda, the boy's name was Palisade
And they are in the same class, but they are not in the same place
She was all around: everyone likes her
But noone except Palisade loves her

Palisade was afraid, a fence was made
He dare not give his blood to Linda
Even though already extracted, he gived a sigh
She will never accept my rose

Linda in her heart, liked noone but the boy
He is bespectacled, but she likes the heart
What use is looks when both are old and weary?
A heart of gold survives everything

As a girl she dare no speak
For by history the lady never initiates: The males do
Unfortunately this carried on for fifteen years
Not a word of secret affections was heard

Palisade was a scholar
But his heart aged no more than a toddler
The rose still wants an owner
He picked himself up to find she was away
Nothing can describe his pain
His Girl was not his anymore
Not his now, not his ever
Another guy was with her

Thanks cousin for your gift!
A hug was exchanged for the present
Linda's birthday was fun
But her heart still remains empty
The person she wished never came
For the last fifteen years

She will never like a guy like me?
Why will she?
He is everything I wished to be?
Surely he is of more worth than me?
And there he looked upon the moon
Smirking again, like you did
Is it because of the rose or beacause of other things?
Do you hate me so much?
Do you not wish for me to be paired, you selfish Moon,
Pairing so many ahead of me, why make me empty
and lonely
and sad
and....

And there he jumped to the bottom of the sea
With him was the rose
Unlike his owner it never drowned
One day it would find the One it was meant for
At least it tried

Linda was devastated
Palisade has died
The worst was yet to come

A rose was delivered to her
With it penned a letter
In it was a paper, the words neat and tidy
as though rewritten hundred times to perfection
And there wrote:

For You, Linda.

And She Cried.
